FAQ - 20 Questions & Answers

1. How do i post my job ad on lawjobs?

Currently, job ads are only accepted via email at lawjobs@weblaw.ch.

2. How are the job advertisements on Lawjobs 3.0 filtered?

Since July 2023, Lawjobs has been offering a unique opportunity in «Swiss Legal Recruiting» to reach potential candidates even more efficiently. We have made the job search even easier and faster. More than 250 relevant filter options not only make your ads easier to find, but also increase the chances of receiving more accurate applications.

Upgrade to Top Jobs & Special Box or publish via Gold or Platin and you can continue to enjoy great benefits. With these placements, your ads are prominently displayed on the job board and in the non-filterable Jusletter. In addition, your ads will be prominently displayed on the main page of Weblaw.ch.

During the booking process, you will receive a digital form which you can fill in within 1-2 minutes - this is optional. Through our analysis of your job description, we configure a filter selection. This result is refined by the information you provide in your job ad. Particularly if certain information is missing from the ad due to space limitations, your participation will ensure an even more accurate match to your specific needs and optimise the filter result.

3. May I use several different roles in one job ads?

Listing multiple job roles in a single job ads, especially if they differ in job title, respective duties, and/or compensation, is not permitted.

In this case, you may publish multiple job ads, and from the second posting onwards, you will receive a bulk discount.

Moreover, the use of Lawjobs to integrate a job portal added via IFrame, which has no economic or legal connection to Lawjobs, is prohibited.

It's also forbidden to showcase additional job offers under a single job ad.

Should any violations occur, Weblaw AG reserves the right to permanently remove the job ad immediately.

4. What information does lawjobs need for publication?

Your email should contain the following information, otherwise we will gladly ask for clarifications:

  • Your final job ad in Word/PDF or by link (possibly with a link to the application form)

  • The desired publication date, if not immediate: Processing time (24h - 48h)

  • The product name: Standard, Gold, Platin, Academics and e.g. upgrades

  • Your current billing address

  • Special requests or indications, e.g. form of placement (PDF, HTML, IFrame)
5. What are the general advantages and disadvantages of PDF, HTML, and IFrame placement?

PDF Posting

  • Advantages:

(1) Easy creation
PDFs are easy to create, and many are familiar with the tools used to create PDFs.

(2) Format consistency
PDF documents retain their format, regardless of the device they are viewed on.

(3) Security
PDFs can be locked to prevent the content from being changed later.

(4) Links in the job ad
We can make your application forms or email contact information available through several buttons next to the PDF job ad.

  • Disadvantages:

(1) Inflexible formatting
PDFs have fixed layouts that do not adapt to different screen sizes. This can affect readability on mobile devices.

(2) Poorer SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
PDF job advertisements are not indexed as well by search engines as HTML job ads, as the content of PDFs is hardly readable for tools like Google for Jobs. Only the title outside of the PDF can be "crawled", but this is probably not enough. Result: Lower reach and click numbers for PDF postings.

(3) Possible need for download
Job seekers may need to download the PDF to view it properly, which can be an obstacle for many.

HTML Posting

You can see a current example here.

  • Advantages:

(1) Flexible formatting
HTML job ads can adapt to different screen sizes, improving readability on mobile devices. Consider the candidate journey.

(2) Better SEO
HTML is optimally "crawled" by search engines and better indexed than PDF content.

(3) Interactivity
HTML allows for interactive elements, such as forms and buttons. We can also set any links, without technical limits.

(4) Availability of PDF download
You can individually make your PDF job ad available for download, with all the advantages of a PDF posting.

  • Disadvantages:

You do not have any disadvantages.

iFrame Posting

  • Advantages:

(1) Embedding and independence of content
With iFrames, you can embed content from another or your own source directly on a main website like Lawjobs.

(2) Interactivity
iFrames can contain interactive content such as forms and videos.

  • Disadvantages:

(1) SEO problems
Content in iFrames is often not indexed by search engines, similar to PDFs.

(2) Compatibility problems
Not all browsers support iFrames or they can be blocked by users. Display problems on the main website cannot be resolved by Lawjobs, as the source code is not within Lawjobs' sphere of influence.

(3) Security issues
iFrames can be vulnerable to clickjacking attacks.

(4) Performance losses
The creation of IFrames can be 1-2 orders of magnitude slower than other DOM elements, which can affect performance.

(5) Confusing structure
The frame structure can sometimes be confusing, especially when scroll bars appear in multiple frames.

(6) Blocked page loads & Limited connection pool
iFrames can block the loading of the page, which can give job seekers the impression that the page is very slow. iFrames share the connection pool with the main page and can use up all available connections when loading resources, blocking the loading of main page resources.

15. How can i highlight my job ad to get more attention?

You can either start off with the Gold or Platin option (more cost-effective variant) or choose to upgrade to Top Jobs / Special Box or Social Media Upgrade during the lifespan of your job ad.

This significantly optimizes the reach of your job ad. With an additional upgrade and placement of tax law or data protection jobs in a specialized publication (ASAonline or Weblaw Rundmail Datenschutz), you significantly increase your chances of finding a suitable candidate.

With your own employer page on Lawjobs or a «Lawjobs in an Interview», you also considerably increase your reach.

You can publish your job ad with photos and graphics. The information must be truthful and complete. You are responsible for ensuring that your job ads do not contain any illegal or immoral content and do not infringe upon third party rights. Weblaw assumes no liability.

Company logos appear both within and outside of the job ad, and are also easily recognizable on the portal.

If you wish, we can inform you about the number of views at the end of the ad's lifespan. It's free of charge.
