Martijn van Gils (LLB, LLM) is a junior researcher at the Utrecht Centre for Water, Ocean and Sustainability Law of Utrecht University in The Netherlands. In September 2020, he will start his PhD thesis, which is about the legal framework governing groundwater control and soil subsidence in Dutch peat meadow areas (veenweidegebieden).
